Andre: 'Split was the right decision'

Peter Andre has said that he made the right decision when he resolved to split from his wife Katie Price earlier this year.

The singer told New that he considered reuniting with his estranged wife shortly after their separation but her actions since then had made that impossible.

Andre said: "Me leaving Kate was definitely the right decision. It had to be done. If she'd handled things differently after the split, who knows? Things might have been different.

"I've always said I'm not going to say why we split - although I had very good reasons - but what's happened since the split has nailed it in the coffin. Things could have been different, that's all I'm going to say."

He added: "And that's what hurts me the most. It could have been different. I still had that element of waiting to see how she'd act and look at what happened within the first two weeks!

"It's really bizarre because a couple of weeks ago, I said I wasn't over Kate, but I seem to have turned a corner in the last couple of weeks. I've just really noticed that pictures of her doing various things in the press don't hurt me anymore.

"Everyone told me that one day I'd wake up and it wouldn't hurt anymore, and that's exactly what's happened. Don't get me wrong, I still have bad days, but I am much better generally."
