Gok Wan has announced that he is fronting a petition to parliament calling for body confidence lessons to be included in all school curriculums.

The How To Look Good Naked host claimed that the lessons will help teens grow up with a healthier body image.

"When I first started filming How To Look Good Naked I had no idea of the body hatred epidemic," said Wan.

"After five years filming the show I feel confident that a difference can be made. We need to teach the next generation that what we see in the media is not a fair representation of the real body."

Shona Collins, winner of 2008 series Miss Naked Beauty, will help Wan campaign to bring about the change to the current curriculum.

"It was shocking to me how depressed and down young girls are about their appearance and body shapes," she said.

"I discussed with classes how they think it could be changed and the idea came about to include a lesson on body confidence in the PSHE curriculum."

The new series of How To Look Good Naked begins on Channel 4 next month. Details of the petition can be found at www.channel4.com/naked.
