Doherty faces plea hearing in October

Pete Doherty has been ordered to return to court in October to enter a plea on a charge of drink driving.

The Babyshambles frontman attended a hearing at Cheltenham Magistrates' Court after being stopped by police on June 11 following a performance at Gloucester's Guildhall venue, thisisgloucestershire reports.

Doherty denied dangerous driving and is yet to plead on the drink driving charge, while he has admitted to driving without a license or insurance in addition to two counts of drug possession.

Judge Joti Boparai ordered the singer to be at Gloucester Crown Court on October 2 to answer the drink driving charge and arrange a provisional trial date for the charge of dangerous driving.

He may also be sentenced for the other charges at this time.

At today's hearing, Doherty was fined £500 plus a £15 victim surcharge and given six points on his driving license after he admitted an unrelated incident, when he did not tell police he was driving a Jaguar involved in a motoring offence in November 2008.
