White to judge Gerrard, Torres cooking?

Marco Pierre White will judge a Masterchef-style cookery contest between Liverpool FC players, say tabloid reports.

According to The Sun, the Hell's Kitchen star has been recruited by the players to judge their culinary skills.

Steven Gerrard, Spanish striker Fernando Torres and defender Jamie Carragher all apparently believe that they are the best chef in the team.

"The lads have all been having a bit of banter," said a source. "Stevie, Carra and Nando are good mates and they agreed to do it as a bit of a laugh. They've all been practising hard at home. Stevie keeps joking he's going to whip up a pan of Scouse, while Nando and Carra want to do something a little fancy.

"Nando fancies himself as the favourite, he is always cooking at home for his missus and reckons his Spanish dishes will win over Marco and the other diners."

The trio will apparently have a final event in October at Carragher's Liverpool restaurant.
