Pattinson, Stewart "awesome together"

Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke has reportedly claimed that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are "awesome together".

The filmmaker made the remark after she was asked by E! Online's Ted Casablanca about rumours that the co-stars are a couple in real-life.

"I cast them together, so obviously I think they're awesome together. There's no question about that," she said.

"I think they're both fascinating, tortured, artists. Which is kind of cool to be with somebody else that gets what that's like. They are both amazing with very interesting minds. So that's kind of cool, too."

She added: "When I'm in the airport on trips I'll look at the magazines. It's pretty wild. I feel pretty bad for everybody. You wish you could just have a life!"

Hardwicke previously admitted that she felt "guilty" about casting the pair because of the attention that they have received since the release of the movie.

Both Pattinson and Stewart have denied reports that they are dating.
