Spelling husband: 'Kids are not props'

Tori Spelling's husband Dean McDermott has responded to a comment that her mother Candy said.

The wife of late TV producer Aaron Spelling recently wrote an open letter to her daughter, in which she claimed that Tori was using her children Liam, 2, and 1-year-old Stella as "reality show props" on her Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood series.

The 42-year-old actor came to his wife's defence and replied to the most recent war of words between the estranged mother and daughter.

He told TMZ: "We don't use our children as props. We take really good care of our children. Everyone's entitled to their opinion."

Tori added that her family had been on vacation and she "hadn't read" the letter penned by her parent, while Candy told USA Today last week that she loves her child and "always will".

Candy recently referred to Tori as a "middle-aged reality show star", and claimed that the 36-year-old had warped memories regarding her upbringing.
