Couple 'try to sell Madden their baby'

Joel Madden was recently left speechless after a couple approached him on the street and offered him a child in exchange for money.

The Good Charlotte rock musician, who is to become a dad for the second time soon with his partner Nicole Richie, said that he was horrified by the request.

After the incident, Madden wrote on his Twitter blog: "Today some people in traffic tried to sell me a baby. A live human baby. I didn't know what to say. I said a little prayer for the kid."

He continued: "Wow, it all happened so fast. I was trying to figure out if they were serious, and i think when my reaction was not a good one, they just took off."

The star added: "I mean look. Chances are they were joking. The scary part is I really couldn't tell. Maybe I'm just one gullable fool.(sic)"

Madden and Richie already have a 19-month old daughter called Harlow.
