Douglas son jailed for drugs offence

Cameron Douglas has been jailed after his girlfriend allegedly tried to smuggle him drugs while he was under house arrest.

The son of actor Michael was arrested on charges of dealing methamphetamine last month.

Investigators have claimed that Cameron's girlfriend Kelly Sott tried to smuggle 19 containers of heroin inside an electric toothbrush delivered to a Manhattan hotel.

Court papers revealed that Cameron "appeared to be very concerned about when the toothbrush would be delivered", arousing the suspicion of law enforcement officers.

Sott was also arrested at the hotel and both were later jailed.

If found guilty of the initial dealing charges, Cameron could face a sentence of ten years to life in prison.
