Cornish: 'Phillippe romance was difficult'

Abbie Cornish has admitted that she went through a "really difficult time" in the early stages of her romance with Ryan Phillippe.

The Bright Star actress began dating Phillippe after they met on the set of Stop-Loss and was immediately insinuated in his divorce from Reese Witherspoon.

Speaking to W Magazine, she said: "It was a really difficult time for me. It was just this world of tabloid magazines that I'd never been exposed to.

"In a normal successful career, someone usually learns these things bit by bit. For me, it was like night and day. I woke up one day and there was this whole new thing I had to process and deal with."

When asked whether she was planning to marry Phillippe, she replied: "No... I don't know. I think I'm nearly ready to go on to another part of the conversation."

Bright Star receives a limited US release in September and a UK release in November.
