Arrest warrant 'issued for Bobby Brown'

R&B singer Bobby Brown is wanted by police in Boston after failing to show up for a recent court appearance relating to his unpaid child support payments, it has been reported.

According to Contactmusic, Whitney Houston's ex-husband has been accused of failing to pay over $45,000 (£30,000) to his former girlfriend Kim Ward, with whom he shares two teenage children.

Brown was due in court to face the charge on June 29 but never appeared for the appointment.

The 40-year-old is now facing jail time if he steps foot in the state of Massachusetts again, while Norfolk Judge Christina Harms has issued an arrest warrant for the star after ruling that he was in contempt of court during a hearing today.

Brown, who became a father for the fifth time in June, has previously served time in prison for failing to meet his child support commitments - he was also jailed for four days in 2007 after skipping payments to Ward.
