Cop fails to recognise Bob Dylan

A cop did not recognise Bob Dylan after being sent to investigate "a scruffy man acting suspiciously".

The music icon tried to explain who he was to the policewoman after locals in Long Branch, New Jersey had reported him for not fitting in, reports The Sun.

She phoned colleagues to ask if they had heard of Bob Dylan.

One co-worker said: "Bob Dylan was on a walkabout but the woman officer wasn't entirely convinced of his innocence. She took him back to the hotel to check his papers, then called us. We all fell about laughing."

Dylan is rumoured to be releasing a Christmas album.
