Fans to restore Eleanor Rigby's grave
Beatles lovers are raising funds to repair the grave of Eleanor Rigby, the spot that inspired the band’s chart-topping song about a scullery maid in 1966.

Jay Johnson, who runs Fab Cabs Beatles tours, is spearheading a campaign to restore the Rigby memorial in St Peter’s Church in Woolton, Liverpool. The site is an attraction in the area.

He said: "It's embarrassing showing visitors the grave. They can't understand why it is so forlorn."

Johnson, who is Frankie Goes To Hollywood star Holly Johnson’s brother, added: "We hope to have it restored by next year."
