Jim Carrey, star of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, has told Steve Kroft of 60 Minutes about his experiences with anti-depressant drug Prozac.

In the interview, which is to be aired in parts on Friday on KCBS-TV, Carrey explains how avoiding Prozac, alcohol and drugs has helped to stave off depression, while taking Prozac for a long while did nothing to help him.

He told Kroft: "I had to get off at a certain point because I realized that ... everything is just OK.

"There are peaks, there are valleys, but they're all kind of carved and smoothed out ... It feels like a low level of despair you live in where you're not getting any answers but you're living OK and you can smile at the office."

"I rarely drink coffee. I am very serious about no alcohol, no drugs. Life is too beautiful."

Filming for Carrey's upcoming movie, Fun With Dick and Jane, is underway.
