Chloe Madeley has been charged with drink-driving after her car overturned in North London, reports The Daily Telegraph.

The daughter of Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan was reportedly arrested at her parents' home following the incident that happened on Sunday morning.

Police are reported to have discovered an overturned and abandoned Peugeot 206 in Meadway Close, Barnet. It is understood that the vehicle had hit a parked Mini.

In a statement, her spokesperson said: "She hit a parked car upon her return from the chemist's just after 3.30am on Sunday. Chloe was not hurt and no-one else was involved.

"A routine police breath test showed her alcohol level to be slightly over the legal limit, and the matter is currently being investigated. Chloe would like to apologise for her actions and accepts full responsibility for the damage caused."

Madeley, 22, is scheduled to appear on bail at Hendon Magistrates Court on September 2.
