Two officers were informed about the star's latest sunshine break after paying a visit to her home in Wilmslow, Cheshire yesterday, The Sun reports.
It is believed that the plain-clothed policeman and policewoman then had a brief discussion with Katona's nanny Gemma, who was pictured answering the door and letting the pair inside yesterday.
The visit followed the release of footage which appears to show Katona snorting cocaine in the bathroom of her home.
A source said: "The officers came to the door and asked to speak to Kerry. They told Gemma they were acting on a complaint about Kerry taking part in alleged illicit activities. Gemma was startled and explained that Kerry wasn't there.
"The officers seemed happy with the explanation but insisted they would be back to speak to Kerry on her return."
Katona allegedly has her four children Molly, 7, Lilly-Sue, 6, Heidi, 2, and 1-year-old Max with her on the holiday.
An insider added: "Kerry needs to come back to the UK and face her demons. There's no use hiding on a beach in the Canaries - she needs professional help for her drug habit and she needs to come clean about what's gone on."
