1m Band Aid CDs to be sent to stores

The Band Aid 20 single is released in stores on Monday, and a million copies of it will be waiting to be bought to raise money for refugees in Sudan.
The song, featuring a plethora of today's hottest acts, should hopefully exceed the sales of the original 1984 recording, which sold 3.5 million copies.
The last singles to sell a million copies were offerings from Will Young and Gareth Gates in the aftermath of the first Pop Idol.
The song has been available for download since Monday, a facility of which about 10,000 people have taken advantage. The new single on its own costs £1.49, while a two-track package including the original version can be downloaded for £1.99.
Most online music stores have raised their normal prices so as to give the surplus to Band Aid, though Apple iTunes have refused to do so, according to Band Aid organisers.
HMV, Woolworths and Virgin Megastores are also to donate their funds, and the government is planning to refund the VAT paid on the single and the Live Aid DVD.
