George Michael's AIDs tragedy

Published Friday, Nov 26 2004, 09:33 GMT | By Daniel Saney
George Michael has spoken out about when his lover died from an AIDs-related illness in 1993 and describes it as the "loneliest time" in his life, reports Femalefirst.

Michael met Brazilian lover Anselmo Feleppa at a concert in Rio de Janeiro in 1991 and they fell in love. Later, Felappa revealed that he needed to take an AIDs test, and George recounts that when he heard the news: "I remember looking at the sky saying, 'Don't you dare do this to me.'

"I went home to my family over Christmas and sat at the table not knowing whether my partner, who the people round the table did not know about, this man I was in love with, was terminally ill.

"It was possibly the loneliest time in my life."
