Connolly slams D-list celebs

Comedian Billy Connolly has complained about Britain's D-list celebrities.
"There is nothing stranger than a celebrity you have never heard of," he said. "Isn't it a prerequisite of celebrity that people know who you are? I feel like Rip Van Winkle.
"I always fancied being somebody but when I said I wanted to be a comedian there was a f***ing revolution in the house - 'But you're not funny'.
"Nowadays, you can say to your mother in a Newcastle housing estate, 'I want to be an actor' and she'll say, 'Great.'"
