Clare Balding 'beats cancer'

Clare Balding has revealed that she has overcome throat cancer, reports The Sun.

The BBC sports presenter was told that she had a malignant cyst on her thyroid gland just before she was due to host this year’s Grand National. However, she waited until after the race to begin treatment.

Now, after two operations and iodine treatment, the 38-year-old wrote on her website: "There are no signs of the thyroid cancer having spread anywhere else, so all is looking happy and rosy in the world."

Balding added: "Now it's full steam ahead with a busy summer of work."
