The 53-year-old's £1 million book deal was said to have been scrapped in May after her publisher was left "hugely disappointed" with the first draft.
At the time, reports claimed that Hall had failed to meet Harper Collins's desire for juicy revelations about her nine-year marriage to Rolling Stone Mick Jagger.
Speaking publicly about the decision for the first time, the star told WENN: "[The book's] been put on hold. Hopefully, it's coming out at some point. It was a mutual decision to wait. I'm not really ready to put it out yet, maybe in a few years.
"I've found writing it cathartic, though. I think as you mature you do remember things differently, or certain things become more important than you thought they were when you were younger."
Hall is currently appearing in the stage version of Calendar Girls in the West End.
