Avril Lavigne to divorce Deryck Whibley?

Avril Lavigne is due to begin divorce proceedings against her husband Deryck Whibley, it has been reported.

According to Angry Ape, the 24-year-old singer was spotted partying in New York last week without her partner, while sources have suggested that an annulment is "imminent".

One insider said: "She wanted to get away from Deryck and have a weekend to herself."

However, this isn't the first time that the pair have been rumoured to be splitting. Earlier this year, reports surfaced that the couple were heading towards a separation after they were seen fighting at a Los Angeles nightclub.
