According to The Sun, officials are yet to speak to Alberto Alvarez or Jackson's chief of staff Michael Amir.
Their lawyer Carl Douglas said: "We arranged two occasions for investigators to meet my clients.
"The first meeting was rescheduled. The second I had to call them to inquire about the detectives' absence."
A source added: "There are only three detectives from LAPD's homicide division assigned to the case. This is one of the reasons the investigation is ongoing."
It was previously claimed that security officer Alvarez was caught in the middle of a conflict between the police and Jackson's family.
