Sacked accountant sympathises with Katona

An accountant who was sacked by Kerry Katona in March has blamed "appalling" advice for her recent meltdown.

The reality TV star enlisted the help of financial expert Frank Cochran after splitting from Mark Croft in a dispute over money earlier this year. However, she later cancelled his probe into her cash woes following a reunion with her husband.

Cochran has now admitted that he wasn't surprised to hear about Katona's recent showdown with her current accountant David McHugh, which has landed the ex-singer in fresh trouble with police.

He told the Daily Star: "The trouble is McHugh and Mark have been mates for years. Anyone with half a brain could see things were being done that were wrong, money transfers and so on. The advice Kerry's received has been appalling."

Meanwhile, Katona's former publicist Max Clifford has reportedly offered to start representing her again, despite being fired by the star last year.

Clifford commented: "Two years ago she had deals with OK magazine, Iceland, a book deal and a perfume deal - things couldn't have been better. Now she's hit rock bottom."
