Adam 'DJ AM' Goldstein dies

Adam 'DJ AM' Goldstein has been discovered dead in his apartment after reportedly overdosing on drugs.

According to TMZ, police forced their way into the 36-year-old’s New York home on Friday following reports from a friend who had not been able to contact him for some days. Drug paraphernalia was found on the premises.

Celebrities have revealed tributes to Goldstein on Twitter.

Lindsay Lohan tweeted: "I can't believe this.. i'm in shock. why? why? r.i.p. adam."

Kelly Osbourne said: "I just cant believe that adam (dj.am) is gone i dont want to believe it im in shock. he was one of the most genuine people i have ever met!"

P. Diddy wrote: "DJ AM rest in peace."

Shanna Moakler, whose ex-husband Travis Barker survived a plane crash with Goldstein last year, wrote: "My deepest condolences for DJ AM, you were a great artist and will be severely missed. My thoughts and prayers to his family and friends."

Goldstein has faced drug addiction in the past, and admitted that he once tried to commit suicide while on crack cocaine aged 24.
