According to reports, the event was held in New York's Prospect Park in Brooklyn, where thousands of Jackson fans celebrated what would have been the icon's 51st birthday.
Lee told The AP: "I was just like everyone else. I loved his talent."
Jackson's funeral will take place on Friday, September 4.
