Witherspoon 'pays for woman's groceries'

Reese Witherspoon paid for a woman's groceries after she forgot her wallet.

The Cruel Intentions star, who has daughter Ava, 9, and 5-year-old son Deacon with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe, apparently felt sorry for a panicking mother at an LA Whole Foods store.

According to Bang Media, an onlooker said: "Reese knows that kids make you lose your mind. When she spotted a harried mum who had forgotten her wallet she picked up the tab."

The source continued: "The woman was so flustered and embarrassed. But Reese said she would gladly take care of the $70 (£43) bill and no apology was necessary. She told the mum, 'I understand, I have kids too!'"

Witherspoon is currently dating actor Jake Gyllenhaal.
