Spector, who was sentenced in May, has asked to move after claiming that he fears for his safety, according to the New York Post.
He will reportedly move from the California Substance Abuse Treatment Facility & State Prison in Corcoran to Pleasant Valley State Prison in Coalinga.
However, Spector has now expressed fears that he will contract "Valley Fever", which has killed sixteen inmates at Coalinga in four years.
His wife, Rachelle Short, remarked: "They are sending Phil there to die. He is scared to death. When I saw him on Saturday, he was shaking.
"We are trying to appeal over this, but he's been told he has no time. He's already been given his bus pass out of Corcoran."
A Pleasant Valley spokesperson said: "We cannot comment on prisoners who may be moved here in the future."
