Katona mum: "I'm worried sick"

Kerry Katona's mother Sue has expressed fears that the star will be jailed for assault.

The reality TV star was arrested by police last week after allegedly attacking her accountant David McHugh. Investigations into the matter are believed to be ongoing.

Katona had received an official police caution for possessing cocaine two days earlier amid tabloid revelations about her personal life.

Sue has now told New magazine: "I'm worried sick about Kerry after the arrest. They could make an example of her and send her to prison - she is in total meltdown.

"She has lost everything. Kerry has never been violent before and she has reached breaking point. I just worry about what is going to happen next.

"She needs to check into rehab to gather her thoughts on how she is going to get her life back on track. She needs professional help from the doctors and psychiatrists."

Katona was recently spotted enjoying a shopping spree in Manchester.
