Blanchett "fine" after head injury

Cate Blanchett will return to the stage tonight after suffering a head injury during a fight scene.

The actress was accidentally hit by a prop while playing Blanche DuBois in a Sydney Theatre production of A Streetcar Named Desire.

A spokesman for the theatre said: "Everyone is fine.

"Cate was injured, she got a bump on the head but she will be back on stage tonight."

Blanchett runs the Sydney Theatre Company with husband Andrew Upton.
