Michael Jackson buried at Forest Lawn

Michael Jackson has been buried at a private ceremony at Glendale's Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Stars present among the 200 invited guests included record producers Quincy Jones and Berry Gordy, Dame Elizabeth Taylor, Macaulay Culkin and Jackson's ex-wife Lisa Marie Presley, the BBC reports.

Reverend Al Sharpton spoke and musician Gladys Knight sang at the service, which began an hour later than planned due to the late presence of Jackson's family.

Following their arrival in a motorcade of 31 vehicles, Jackson's body was interred at 21:43 local time.

A statement from the family read: "The Jackson family wishes to once again thank all of Michael's fans around the world for their generous outpouring of support during this terribly difficult time."

The singer's brothers Randy, Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marlon acted as pallbearers at the ceremony when his gold-plated coffin was moved from its hearse.

Jackson's death certificate was amended earlier this week to indicate that he had lost his life due to "injection by another".
