Burns suffered from swelling and blisters when Harley Street surgeon Maurizio Viel gave him lip implants, The Sun reports.
The Dead Or Alive frontman complained that he looked as if he had been "mutilated with a Stanley knife" and explained that after the procedure he could not eat properly and had to drink through a straw.
Burns has had more than 100 operations in Italy to correct the damage, but his lawyers revealed that he will continue to need treatment.
"It has taken away my life and career," the former Celebrity Big Brother contestant said. "I saw doctors in London who said the only option was to amputate my lips. I was suicidal."
Burns agreed to the out-of-court settlement after Dr Viel admitted negligence in ignoring instructions from the implant manufacturers and giving the popstar too many injections.
