Ryan Alexander Jenkins was charged with killing former Playboy model Jasmine Fiore last month after her body was discovered in a California park.
Jenkins was later found dead at a Canadian motel with preliminary reports suggesting that he took his own life.
Speaking to People, she said: "It's been a very challenging time. I'm happy to move forward at this point. It's been a very upsetting, sad, tragic situation that nobody could have expected."
Hauserman, who is currently working with animal rescue charities, added that she wants to "continue doing TV work" but declined to comment on rumours that she has already been offered a new show.
VH1 recently confirmed that it had cancelled all future airings of Megan and I Love Money 3, which also featured Jenkins, in the wake of Fiore's death.
