Leona Lewis: 'Family keep me grounded'

WENN

Leona Lewis has confessed that she has learnt how to recognise genuine friends as she has become more famous.

The 'Bleeding Love' singer told The Big Issue that since winning The X Factor in 2006, she has tried to stay down to earth.

Lewis said: "It's definitely a journey for me, and I'm still adjusting - I've just learned how to decipher the true, genuine people from the ones that want to know you for their own benefit along the way."

The 24-year-old star continued to reveal that despite living in Los Angeles part-time, she manages to stay grounded thanks to her friends and family.

She added: "I come from a very normal place with a normal family and I definitely stay true to that. There are moments when I'm like, 'Wow', but at the end of the day you need a reality check and mine is friends and family."
