Daly is "emotional wreck" over daughter

Tess Daly has admitted that she is feeling emotional over her daughter Phoebe starting school.

The Strictly Come Dancing host shed tears when she took the 4-year-old to her first day in reception class last week.

Writing in her column for The Mirror, Daly revealed: "I was an emotional wreck watching her go, mopping my damp eyes at the school gates with all the other mums.

"I couldn't help but remember my own school days, clock-watching for what seemed like an eternity till the bell rang at 3.30pm.

"It must seem twice as long when you're 4! Still, she raced off without a backward glance, as I took a deep breath and tried to repair my smudged mascara."

Daly and her husband Vernon Kay also have a second daughter named Amber Isabella together, who they welcomed in May.
