Redgrave wins lifetime achievement award

Vanessa Redgrave has been given a lifetime achievement award.

Redgrave, whose daughter Natasha Richardson died after a skiing accident this year, was presented with the honour at the Harper's Bazaar Women of the Year awards, The Mirror reports.

Ralph Fiennes praised the actress as he presented her with the accolade.

He said: "If I think of a woman of truth, of loyalty, of integrity, of passion, of compassion, a woman with a great heart and a woman of all elements, I think of Vanessa Redgrave.

"If I think of an actress with infinite range and infinite variety, I think of Vanessa. If I think of a woman who gives determined voice to those who have no voice, I think of Vanessa.

"And if I just think of a fantastic, beautiful, sexy woman, I think of Vanessa."
