U2 to join Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

U2 will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the US next year.

Also those in waiting to receive the accolade are The Pretenders, Buddy Guy, Percy Sledge, and the O'Jays.

Those to be inducted are selected by the votes of around 700 music experts on nominees chosen by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation's nominating committee. Eligibility comes 25 years after an artist's first album release.

Inductees are forever represented in an exhibit at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio.
