Statham 'avoids Brook at awards bash'

Jason Statham went to great lengths to avoid his ex-girlfriend Kelly Brook at the GQ Awards, a report has claimed.

According to The Mirror, the 42-year-old actor delayed his entrance to dinner at the ceremony after hearing that Brook would be sitting five tables away.

A source said: "Kelly was a huge part of Jason's life and clearly he still has feelings for her. Also she looked stunning and Jason was there with his girlfriend - he didn't want the pair meeting.

"Rather than risk an awkward encounter, he didn't sit down for dinner straight away. Instead a member of GQ's staff took his place."

Statham is also said to have ignored his former lover at the Royal Opera House after-party, remaining on the roof terrace while Brook chatted to friends inside.

The insider added: "It was a pretty awkward situation. Kelly's name is a no-go with Jason's mates - no reference was made to her being there all night. Fortunately, Kelly was oblivious to it all and was just having a laugh."

Statham and Brook dated for seven years before splitting in 2004.
