During her co-hosting stint on The View this morning, the mother-of-eight said that it was not easy coping with estranged husband Jon and his girlfriend Hailey Glassman being around her children.
"This is definitely, I'm not going to lie, difficult," she said.
"The truth is, for the sake of my children I'm going to continue taking the high road because it's the only road for me. It's not easy. I melted down over the weekend in the privacy of my home. I melted down."
She added: "It's difficult to wake up every day and wonder what things are going to be thrown my way."
Jon recently claimed that he is "happy" with Glassman, the daughter of Kate's cosmetic surgeon, and suggested that he loved her more than he ever loved Kate.
