Houston: 'Mum confronted Bobby Brown'

Whitney Houston has admitted that her mother once confronted Bobby Brown.

The pair were married for 14 years when she filed for divorce in 2006. Houston has now discussed aspects of her troubled marriage in a two-part interview with Oprah Winfrey, People reports.

"One day my mother [Cissy] came to my house... with these sheriffs," the 46-year-old explained. "She said, 'If you move, Bobby, they're going to take you down'. And he stood there, like he was scared.

"She said, 'Let's go, I'm not losing you to Satan. I'm not doing this. I want my daughter. I want to see that glow in your eyes - that light in your eyes'."

Winfrey recently said that her chat with the singer was her "best ever" interview.

The 24th season of The Oprah Winfrey Show kicks off on US TV today with the first part of her interview with Houston, while part two airs tomorrow.
