Gosselin "excited" about new hairstyle

Kate Gosselin was "excited" about debuting her new hairstyle on The View, according to the show's hair stylist.

The 34-year-old reality star ditched her trademark sleek bob for a wavier look during her co-hosting stint on the ABC chatshow yesterday.

Speaking to Us Weekly, stylist Lavette Slater said: "Kate is a beautiful woman and I wanted to expand on her already famous locks and try something new, fun and whimsical.

"Kate was excited and gave me carte blanche to experiment and create a new look. As a mother of eight children, you don't always have time to style your hair and this was the perfect opportunity to show a different look for Kate."

Earlier this week, Project Runway winner Christian Siriano joked that Gosselin was trying to "rock" his look after noting the similarities between their hairstyles.
