Kerry Katona is confident that she won't lose her eldest daughters in a custody battle with Brian McFadden, a report has claimed.

The reality TV star's ex-husband has allegedly started legal proceedings after deciding that he wants to take Molly, 8, and Lilly-Sue, 6, into his care temporarily.

Reports of McFadden's custody bid emerged after Katona was filmed snorting cocaine at her Cheshire home last month.

A source told Now magazine: "This custody fight talk frightens Kerry, but she knows deep down that you have to do a lot more than be filmed taking cocaine to lose your kids."

Katona reportedly believes that McFadden is "using her" for publicity and will not go ahead with his plans.

The insider added: "Kerry says she doesn't need the hassle of a custody battle - she's had enough to last a lifetime. She'd fight Brian if he did try to take the kids, but she knows that won't happen."

The ex-popstar previously announced that she is "so ashamed" over her drug scandal.
