Eco-protesters have reportedly covered Jeremy Clarkson's lawn in manure as part of a protest against his "blasé" attitude to climate change.

According to Sky News, the Climate Rush Group also unfurled a banner for the Top Gear host, which read: "This is what you're landing us in."

Activist Tamsin Omond said: "I love Jeremy. I love fast cars. But... I learned that climate change will make my future unrecognisable. If we keep on loving the fossil-fuelled lifestyle, then by the time I hit 49, the world will be too busy coping with the impact of climate change to bother about how big an engine is possible."

The seven female protesters arrived at Clarkson's £2m Oxfordshire mansion dressed as suffragettes in a van fuelled by chip-frying oil. Gaining access to the star's estate, they proceeded to dump their bags of manure over the garden and driveway. Although the BBC presenter was not at home during the incident, police were eventually called.

The Climate Rush Group believes that Clarkson could be responsible for an estimated 1.7 tonnes of carbon pollution due to his recent drive to the Antarctic for a Top Gear shoot.

Omond added: "I'm dumping dung at Clarkson's gates so he might understand that his attitude will land us all in the s**t."
