TLC are not 'replacing' Left-Eye

Rozonda 'Chilli' Thomas and Tionne 'T-Boz' Watkins object to reports that they are trying to 'replace' the late Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes.

Lopes tragically died at the age of 30 in April 2002 in a car accident in Honduras. Her death came just months before the group's album release, 3D.

In an interview with CNN after Lopes' death, Thomas said: "She was our sister, you know?"

"And no matter what we went through, we're sisters. You know sisters argue, and they kiss and make up and that's just how our relationship was...Through us, people will always remember Lisa. We'll always be a group. It doesn't stop.

"And she'll never be replaced."

Now the band are looking for a new collaborator to tour with and to help record one track for their greatest hits album. The search is being documented in reality show R U The Girl With T-Boz And Chilli?.

However, Thomas reiterates the fact that they are not trying to replace Lopes: "Nothing has changed. We're not replacing Lisa. We're not looking for a new member.

"We started out with our fans and it's all about our greatest hits. Basically, we are trying to give back to our fans and find one girl and give her a chance of a lifetime, to do one last performance with TLC.

"We kind of call it, like, fan appreciation. We started together and we want to end it together, and that's something that Lisa would have been fond of."
