Avril Lavigne 'married too young'

Avril Lavigne has split up with her husband because she is too young to settle down, sources say.

Lavigne wedded the Sum 41 star Deryck Whibley in 2006, at the age of 21.

"She married too young and she finally realised that," a source told People. "Avril realised she needs her own life and needs to explore things without him."

Meanwhile, another insider claimed that the pair had been having trouble for six months but added that the split is "not about Deryck wanting a kid, nor is she dating anyone else".

Lavigne announced the end of her marriage earlier this week, explaining that she was "grateful" for the time she had spent with Whibley.

She wrote: "He is the most amazing person I know, and I love him with all my heart. Deryck and I are separating and moving forward on a positive note."
