Tweed appears in court on rape charge

Jack Tweed has appeared in court over allegations that he raped a female at his home in East London.

Jade Goody's widow only confirmed his name at a preliminary hearing at Snaresbrook Crown Court. Tweed is expected to deny the charge, which relates to an incident that allegedly took place in the early hours of Friday, September 4 at his Woodford Green residence.

The 22-year-old has been remanded in custody and must return to court for a plea on November 16.

Tweed's mother-in-law Jackiey Budden admitted last week that she was concerned about the DJ and club promoter's welfare and recent drinking. She has also claimed that she believes Tweed is innocent in relation to the rape allegations.
