Daniel Bedingfield is relying on the support of his friends to see him through the winter.
The Gotta Get Thru This singer suffers from Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), which leaves those affected by it depressed over the winter period as a result of the climate.
Doctors have advised Bedingfield to take a vacation in warmer climes to escape the effects of the inconvenient disorder. He has now retreated to his native New Zealand.
He explained: "I suffer from winter depression. I lack certain substances in my body so I get depressed easier when there is little or no light.
"I will be spending Christmas in New Zealand with lots of sun, which will help."
