The defendants have been accused of attempting to blackmail Travolta with a private medical document following the accidental death of his 16-year-old son Jett in the Bahamas in January.
They have pleaded not guilty to the extortion charges.
Paramedic Tarino Lightbourn and his attorney, former Bahamian Sen. Pleasant Bridgewater, are alleged to have asked for the money in exchange for not making the document public.
On Monday, prosecutors alleged that the defendants threatened to release a document, signed by Travolta, that would have removed the emergency services' liability for not transporting Jett to the hospital.
However, a police officer later testified that the actor had signed the paper because he initially wanted Jett to be taken to an airport instead of the hospital.
The trial continues and Travolta is expected to testify later today.
