Ellen Pompeo gives birth to baby girl

Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo has given birth to a baby girl, according to People.

The actress, who plays Meredith Grey on the medical drama, and her husband Chris Ivery welcomed daughter Stella Luna Pompeo Ivery on September 15.

Pompeo and Ivery, a music producer, married in 2007 and announced that they were expecting their first child together in April.

The 39-year-old star was recently thrown a baby shower by Grey's co-star Katherine Heigl. Cast members who attended included Kate Walsh and Sandra Oh.
