Williams: 'Hanging with Pattinson was cool'

Hayley Williams has said that she enjoyed spending time with Twilight star Robert Pattinson after her band recorded two songs for the movie's soundtrack.

The Paramore frontwoman told BBC Newsbeat that her initial meeting with Pattinson, who plays vampire Edward Cullen in the franchise, was strange.

Williams said: "I sat down with him and had a little candle-lit interview. It was really funny because they set it up as if we had known each other for years but we'd just met.

"I realised, we did the interview and it was kind of awkward and once we were out of the interview and we were just hanging out it was totally cool. It's just strange that cameras and Hollywood stuff, it's a new world for us - we've never been a part of it."

Bandmate Josh Farro added: "I don't think we had any idea what it would become. It's really cool to look back. We didn't do it to be this massive thing for us. We were just going to have fun on a movie."

Williams recently said that the band would probably not record a song for the soundtrack to the film's sequel New Moon or any other movies in the series.
