The girlfriend of Dr Conrad Murray will reportedly testify before a grand jury that is investigating the death of Michael Jackson.

The physician is the focus of a manslaughter probe in relation to the popstar's death on June 25, which has been ruled a homicide.

Court documents have suggested that the medical practitioner said that he administered the drug propofol to Jackson in order to aid his insomnia.

Murray's partner Nicole Alvarez, 27, is scheduled to appear in court today after she was subpoenaed due to her failure to answer questions from police officials, a source told the Los Angeles Times.

It is understood that the LA County District Attorney's office will only take her testimony at this time. The panel will apparently not be asked to establish whether Murray will be charged with a crime.

It was reported earlier that Murray had denied any culpability regarding the passing of Jackson.
